Having all the ingrediants he needed from the secluded grove of dying plants, Rayeith made his way back to the trail. Bodies still litered the path, but it was otherwise unremarkable. Knowing that he would be no use in a one on one fight with the lords of oblivion, Rayeith haded back down the trail and waited on a hill overlooking the gate. As he watched, more and more demons went through the menacing red gate, but there was nothing he could do. He would just bide his time until a group of reinforcements came though the gates.
In the mean while, he set about to making as many potions as he could out of the new materials he'd found. Setting out his mortar and pestle, he melded the rotten flowers with the flesh of an imp and the poisonous petals of the nightshade, a concoction he called Stale Air. He bottled the concoction with care and set about making other potions. he often pulled out his leather bound notebooks to take notes or check recipes, but in the end he was proud of his progress: and explosive potion, an elixir to heal minor wounds, another bottle of the extremely useful fire resistance potion, and an alcohol like substance that was great for bringing out one's brute strength, but not so good for one's brain cells. Finished with his work, Rayeith waited on the hilltop and watched over the proceeding invasion.

Wiping his mouth, Othar got up and continued towards the tower, barreling though all. Jumping over rivers of flame, killing daedra, and climbing rocks, he was halfway there when he could progress no further. Searching the base of the mountain, Othar found a cave and entered cautiously.

Still seemingly safe in his tree, Aldrich studied the bloody menagerie of creatures before him. Many of the species he'd only heard of, particularly the horrors that continued to pour out of that gate. He noticed a particularly large brute charging his way through everything then dissapear through the gate. The human was pretty sure that he didn't recognize what kind of behemoth he'd just witnessed, but he was glad it didn't come his way. But amongst all the chaos, something in red stood out, another human! Well, he was pretty sure it was, anyway. Regardless, he was glad to finally see one of his own kind after the many months of wandering. He thought about chasing after him there for a second, then quickly changed his mind after seeing him run straight into the gate. Aldrich dismissed him as crazy.

Without a proper response, Rigor shot a small flare of black flames out of her nostril towards the zombie, hoping it would catch fire without her having to completely submerse him in it. Sure enough, it hit its hair on target, setting decay in motion. Swiftly, she jumped, ripping her scythe from the soil and pressing down on the zombie's head as if she were playing leap frog over him. The pressure exerted made the thing's skull crumble inward; and in unison, it's body hit the ground as Rigor landed. She hit another demonic creature with the blunt of her blade on the scythe, watching it fly back into the portal. "I'm not waiting for these fools to get their act together." The entire sentence seemed to drip with venom as she cleared her way into the portal. She was unsure of what to expect on the other side.. But apparently this was the right place to go.

Lorn looked on happily, he kicked at the remains of the zombie and walked towards the gate his eyes flashing fearfully for a moment. He set his sholders strait and prepared to walk in, at the last moment he turned away shuddering. Lorns hood was nicked by the war axe as he ducked a blow from a huge deamon, snarling he leapt forward his small dagger slicing into the creatures chest, the flesh melted and bubbled as the deamon clutched at his neck. Lorns hand rested on the dieing creatures head and he sapped away the last of its energy to refule his own. Black lightning ripped through the air blistering away deamons as lorn attacked furiously. His hood covered his face as a tear slipped down his cheek and he cursed himself for his cowerdice.

"Perhaps humans weren't as scarce as I first thought." Adlrich said aloud. He watched, intrigued, as a pale, lanky human seemed to....re-animate dead imps and pit them against their former campanions. Unlike anything he'd ever seen. And then there was that dragon. She even looked like death incarnate. On top of that, she seemed eager to deal out the damage. He looked on as she made her way toward the gate. Aldrich decided that he was growing bored sitting idle in his tree. He drew back his bow string, and soon his quiver was emptying into the heads and torsos of who he decided were the bad guys. Apparently, he caught someone's eye, because he heard a fiery crash, wood-like cracking, and a falling sensation. He lept from the tree, rolling to soften his landing. He got out of the way just in time to see the great tree crash onto the ground where was just standing.

Rayeith was startled when the demons guarding the gate let out sharp cries and thunderous roars. apparently, the cavalry had arrived. Running down the hill at full speed, Rayeith burst out into the clearing where the gate lie and made himself useful, knocking his staff up against the backs of his unsuspecting foes. As the blood of his enemies were slung through the air, Rayeith mad a mental note to try an experiment fusing human and demon blood together. He smiled at the prospect of new discoveries as he threw an explosive potion at a bunch of demons crowding around the Gate.

Post by Tezztor Ne'taku on Dec 19, 2008 23:56:10 GMT -5
Tezztor flipped and cut his way from demon to demon, a blue of green and deadly force as demons fell over in rapid succession. No matter how many he killed the kept pouring out of the gate and it was all he could do to wonder how the dragoness managed to fight her way through. Imps flew through the gate and tore through the skies and attacked the expert bowman on the ramparts. On the ground the veteran raptor paladins and knights fault valiantly against the unending swarms to protect the priestess Reirna till her spell was finished. "Just a little bit longer raptors, for with all the fire that burns within!" the lord crusader commanded with flare and poise. The raptor assassin fell back to cover his love worried that some might try to sneak around and kill her while shes vulnerable.
Her legs shook as she struggling under the straight of the massive spell she was conjuring. The sheer amount of power she was absorbing caused a vacuumb to form around her sucking leaves and other objects towards her. Lightning crackled from the skies and in a roar she let loose her spell upon the unsuspecting horde. Massive amounts of power ripped from her outward in all directions, the very waves seemingly distorting reality around them. The wall of holy energy swept out at a rapid rate, engulfing all the demons in a matter of a second. As the holy power overcame them they instantly tore apart before fully disintigrating. All the demons out of the gate vanished in the blink of an eye. Gasping for air Reirna fell to her knees from the strain, then she rolled over to her back wheezing. "Te..Tezz help me." she pleaded.
A worried look overcame Tezztor's scaley mug as he rushed to her and dropped to his knees and held her. "You did great babe I've never seen such a display of power in my life. "he smiled as he kissed her on the forehead. "We did it babe we defeated them." She smiled at him as she caught her breath. "Very taxing spell I don't like having to use it. We haven't won yet the gate remains open" she remarked. The commander stood over them, holy light eminating off his armor. "Very good job priestess, its a shame you didn't join the order. Your extremely powerful." Sriliss smiled. The serenity was soon overtaken by a guard running at the frightened from the southern gate opposite the one they were at. "M'lord bad news! The Southern and western gates have fallen! Demons have claimed the gates and two more of those giant oblivion gates have appeared outside them."
Commander Sriliss stepped back and thought for a moment. years of experiance and wisdom against conventional enemies working against him. In the war with the empire he was undefeated and a master paladin, however he had never before faught such a invasion force. "We must prepare runniners for the raptor citadel in the marshes. We can't hope to combat this alone. Get as many of the raptors out as possible and head for the imperial city." he said with a heavy heart. "We can't fight against all this alone and our only priestess is weary" he said turning a kind eye to Reirna. She had done all she could she never wanted to be a order priestess, just to live the life with the one she loves. Tezztor interupted, "There are outsiders in the gate fighting, we cannot abandon them if they manage to make it out alive." He stood firmly. The Commander turned to Tezztor. "We cannot wait around either the threat out here is real."
Tezztor looked at Reirna almost regretting what he was going to propose. "Then I will wait for them out here, get everybody out." he said with a bit of sorrow turning back to Reirna. "My love, I cannot risk your life, please follow them to the city and find shelter." Reirna gave him a cross look and stood up and stared at him in the eye. "We are one as lovers, and one as fighters. I won't leave you to die alone. Together." she proposed as she roused another spell, cringing a bit at the pain. Sriliss nodded and motioned for his troops to move out. They scattered amongst the city looking for survivors. Reirna looked at her mate and wrapped her arms around him. "If we don't survive I want you to have this.. "She paused before leaning in to a long passionate kiss. Tezztor smiled, "We will make it, I will never allow harm to come to you. C'mon lets see if there are any other outsiders left on this side of the gate."

It was impossible to know what to do; Buddy was faced with a terrible choice, go a head with the psychotic glowing dragon who seemed more likely to kill him than the demons, or stay behind and help the raptors who would probably eat him if he died on the battle field. He looked at the flaming portal in the distance and made up his mind, no way he was going into that thing. He glanced over at the embracing couple and smiled slightly nervously, it wasn't the greatest confidence builder when all the soldiers left but he could run faster than any of them he was sure, he could catch up. Buddy tensed his legs, first things first he had to loose the dead weight.
With a mighty jump he tossed the beggar onto the nearest roof top, landing heavily on top of a demon with a nasty squelching sound. Not stopping to look what he stepped in he turned and ran - skidding slightly - towards the demons that were getting closer and closer to the embracing raptor couple. A slight fleeting push and Buddy was almost horizontal as he ran across the wall of demon bodies, feet pounding away and bone shattering speeds and impacting roughly on the demon's heads, chests and other unthinkable mandibles. He spun to a stop, kicking a leg out and performing an airborn roundhouse to get him some room; knowing staying still was sure death for him he took off again, leaping prone bodies and heading back towards the relative safety of the two raptors.

As she entered, she was surrounded by smoke. There were more bodies of the damned things. "And they compare me to THEM." She spat as she avoided stepping on any of them. Her golden eyes illuminated through the haze as movement caught her attention. It was too big to be a demon, but not big enough to be that barreling idiot Othar. She extended her scythe quickly to where the throat was, stopping it as it touched uncomfortably to his skin. Coming closer, she found it to be the human in red. Her eyes scanned his appearance in almost a sinister manner as she picked out his weak points in case he proved to be a threat... Then removed the blade from where it lightly touched his throat, smiling a the fact it had not so much as nicked him. He smelled of some sort of magic. It wasn't the true kind, but he was all to capable nonetheless.

As Aldrich put another arrow into the head of a very ugly orc, a bright light suddenly erupted from the group of raptors on the other side of the battle, eclipsing all else, and leaving images of silhouettes of raptors and demon alike burned into his eyes. A faint rumble radiated out from the source of the light, which appeared to be a tight circle of raptors, protecting something important, no doubt. The powerful light had seemingly went in all directions, but curiously, only the beings coming from the gate were gone. He staggered from the sudden bright light, dropping his bow and falling to the ground, dazed, as he had been looking in that direction at the time.
He heard yelling, and saw blurred images running across his vision. He got up the best he could, and tried to blink some clarity back into his vision. Finally, his eyes began to focus. He found his bow. His eyes drifted toward the portal. Why did everybody seem so kriffing interested in it? His curiosity got the best of him. He meandered over and looked through. What he saw made him stop. The dragon was attacking the red-robed human! "Stop!" he yelled, and drew his bow.

Rayeith, gave a bow at seeing who his guest was. "Dragoness," he murmured. "Its a delight to meet someone of your prowess in a place such as this," he said as he motioned to the harsh world around him. He remembered always reading about how respectful Dragons required humans to be. He really didn't want to get on one's bad side, so he took the advice to heart and made himself overly humble. Removing the hood from his messy brown hair, he glanced past the Dragoness and saw someone aiming a bow at her back through the portal. "I suggest we calm our new friend, though," he said as he realized how the scene must have looked form outside. "We don't want any more blood to spill if it's not a demon's."

Ripping through rank after rank of daedra, Demon, and Atronach, Othar had made it to the Tower. Turning around to see just how far he had come, and then noticed the dragoness. He had come atleast a mile by his count, and even then further up. Summoning all his might, Othar bellowed to his company "THIS WAY! THIS IS IT!" Afterward, Othar barreled through the door to the tower, ripping the hinges. Once inside, he began exploring, looking for a way up, and waiting.

Lorn had been close to the gate when the white magic exploded all of his undead soilders had been ripped apart and scattered, he himself had been dashed agains the sharp wall of the gate. he rose from the ground a gash on his forehead bleeding as he stumbled to his feet tripping and falling into the gate to oblivion. His frame crashed into the back of the bowman who had jumped from the tree moments ago. Extracting himself from the other he stood up looking around his eyes showing fear and rage as he learned where he was. Lorn planted his feet firmly and looked down at the man who he had stumbled into, after a moment he relaxed his hand from his dagger and offered it out, "My apoligies" he said his voice flat.

Rigor eyed the fellow for a moment, having a certain distaste for how respectful he was. She wanted respect, but not as much as he offered.. In a way it seemed a little over the top. "Call me Rigor." She replied with a puzzled look on her face and an emotionless tone. As she turned to find the 'guest' in which the human had spoken of, she was met by two of them falling in front of her. "Three of you. What are the odds? Especially in a place like this." She leaned on her scythe speaking almost satirically. She herself was unsure of what to do or where she was. She usually closed herself off from society.. Because things such as humans had a tendency to screw it all up.
