In order to keep this enjoyable for all of us, here's a few rules that can be enforced on this board.
- Read the rules set by the OP before entering the roleplay.
You need to know the constraints of what you're doing before you go rushing into a story you might not even be interested in. - Listen to and respect the Moderator / Original Poster [OP].
It's very important that the OP has control over the rules and the ability to modify the roleplay as it takes place. A good OP will know when not to step over the line with such things. Most roleplays evolve as unexpected scenarios present themselves; therefore the OP has to keep it running smoothly, whether he / she's writing directly or effecting responses indirectly by changing the rules. - Keep OOC [Out Of Character] remarks out of the main roleplay thread.
We don't have an OOC board for nothing. If there is a disagreement about the roleplay, it should be voiced outside of the actual roleplay, and if the problem cannot be solved, you should leave the roleplay respectfully. - The OP is in charge of the roleplay unless they publicly make it known otherwise.
- The OP must post the rules and parameters of their roleplay.
In every roleplay there are rules that are clearly explained, whether it is limiting the setting, [ e.g. Medieval times, indicates evil robots should not be frolicking about ] or creating a complex fighting system. - The OP needs to keep up with the roleplay and maintain their role.
This includes changing rules, deciding on a certain desired outcome, and also handing over the title of OP if you cannot, or are unwilling to participate so that others can continue on. - The OP needs to have any special rules or roleplay information clearly posted either in the companion thread or the first post.
- Don't leave others behind.
If you are no longer able to keep up with a roleplay, leave it.. Don't make others wait. But this also means, don't roleplay back and fourth because there's someone else online, unless you are the only characters involved in the situation and it's of relevance to the story. - Follow the narration style of the OP.
If you want the roleplay to go smoothly, you don't want to write you current actions if the OP used past tense to start out with. - Make sure your posts are legible.
If no one can understand your post, you're not going to get anywhere~!
